اطلاع از چگونگی فرسایش و توانایی حمل رسوب در آبراهه­های مختلف حوزه از جمله مواردی است که در هر طرح مهندسی رودخانه و هیدرولوژی باید مورد نظر قرار گیرد. در تحقیق حاضر فرسایش و رسوب­گذاری در بازه­ای به طول 12 کیلومتر از رودخانه تالار با استفاده از مدل HEC-RAS4.0 مورد بررسی و میزان آورد رسوب برای 10 سال آینده پیش­بینی شد. به­منظور شبیه‌سازی بازه مورد مطالعه از 40 مقطع عرضی برداشت شده در سال 1385 و برای واسنجی و صحت­سنجی مدل از 4 مقطع نقشه­برداری شده در سال 1390 استفاده شد. واسنجی و صحت­سنجی مدل نشان داد رابطه انتقال رسوب میر-پیتر-مولر تطابق بهتری با نتایج واقعی دارد. برای پیش­بینی روند فرسایش و رسوب­گذاری، با استفاده از آمار ثبت شده دبی ایستگاه هیدرومتری شیرگاه (در ابتدای بازه) در 30 سال گذشته و به کمک مدل آماری SAMS مقدار دبی ماهانه رودخانه برای 10 سال آینده پیش­بینی و مدل رسوب اجرا گردید. تغییرات پروفیل طولی رودخانه نشان می­دهد بیشترین تغییرات در محدوده میانی بازه مطالعاتی رخ می­دهد و ابتدای بازه به طول حدود 1000 متر با داشتن شیب ملایم، پایدار می­باشد. همچنین پیش‌بینی می­شود میزان رسوب خارج شده از بازه مورد مطالعه برای 10 سال آینده به میزان 348534 تن باشد.
