پروژه‏ های آبخیزداری به منظور حفاظت از منابع پایه (آب، خاک و پوشش گیاهی) و تداوم تولید از طریق حفظ حاصل­خیزی خاک و پایداری کشاورزی طراحی و اجرا می‏ گردند. هدف از انجام این تحقیق ارزیابی کیفی و فنی پروژه­ های اجرا شده آبخیزداری بود که در قالب پروژه بین ‏المللی منارید در حوزه آبخیز رزین استان کرمانشاه ایجاد شده بودند. در این تحقیق ابتدا گزارش مطالعات و طراحی مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفت، سپس اقدامات اجرا شده مورد بازدید  صحرایی و ارزیابی کارشناسی قرار گرفت. بر پایه نتایج این پژوهش، کپه‏ کاری، باغ دیم، بندهای سنگ ملاتی و گابیونی و کانال سیل مهم ­ترین پروژه ‏های احداثی بودند. کپه‏ کاری تا حدودی موفقیت ‏آمیز بود، اما قرق نشده بود. تقریبا بخش قابل توجه نهال‏ های غرس شده نیز خشکیده بودند. همچنین به دلیل عدم خطرات سیل، فرسایش و رسوب، اقدامات مکانیکی به ‏ویژه کانال (دایک) کنترل سیل از اولویت کمتری برخوردارند. ایجاد محدودیت در چرا، تغییر در منابع آب و عدم استفاده از نظرات ساکنین محلی مهم­ ترین دلایل عدم استقبال بود. در نهایت مواردی چون مدیریت چرا، اصلاح شخم، کشاورزی پایدار و برنامه ‏ریزی برای منابع آب و جاذبه ‏های گردشگری و حفظ تنوع زیستی از محورهای مهم و منطبق بر اهداف پروژه منارید، به‌ویژه برای سازگاری با تغییرات اقلیمی اولویت بیشتری دارند.
