در سال­های اخیر روش­های مختلف برای تعیین الگوی بهینه بهره­برداری از منابع آب و خاک به کار رفته است. با توجه به اهمیت منابع طبیعی، مدیریت حوزه آبخیز از طریق اصلاح کاربری اراضی و استفاده صحیح از زمین ضروری است. امّا برنامه­ریزی خطی تک­هدفه یک روش کارا در این مورد محسوب نمی­شود. در این تحقیق روش چندهدفه برنامه­ریزی آرمانی به کار رفته و مدل­های بهینه استفاده از زمین در حوزه آبخیز چلگرد ارائه گردیده است. روش پیشنهادی مبتنی بر تعیین مساحت بهینه در کاربری­های مختلف شمامل کشت دیم، مرتع، کشت آبی، باغات و بیشه­ها و همچنین موقعیت مکانی بهینه آنها می­باشد. در تحقیق حاضر دو مدل ارائه شده است. در این مدل­ها حداکثر سود و حداقل فرسایش خاک به ترتیب در اولویت می­باشند. همچنین محدودیت­های مدل­های فوق منابع تولید شامل آب و زمین و همچنین مسائل اقتصادی و اجتماعی است. نتایج به دست آمده نشان می­دهد که روش ارائه شده روشی کارآمد در بهینه­سازی کاربری اراضی و توسعه پایدار منطقه بوده و می­تواند موجب افزایش سود تا 97% و کاهش فرسایش تا 12% شود. همچنین نتایج نشان داد که در شرایط بهینه و در مدل 1، سطح اختصاص یافته به اراضی کشت دیم 33 درصد کاهش و سطح اراضی مرتعی، کشت آبی، باغات و بیشه­ها به ترتیب 0، 9، 906 و 82 درصد افزایش و در مدل 2، سطح اختصاص یافته به اراضی کشت دیم 54 درصد کاهش و سطح اراضی مرتعی، کشت آبی، باغات و بیشه­ها به ترتیب 1، 9، 906 و 82 درصد افزایش می­یابد.
