   مطالعه فرآیندهای طبیعی مرتبط با آب از نیازهای ضروری کشور ایران است. در این راستا داشتن اطلاعات از رواناب و شرایط هیدرولوژیک ضروری می­باشد. با توجه به اینکه در کشور ما بیشتر حوزه­ها فاقد آمار بلند مدت هستند، استفاده از مدل برای
شبیه­سازی رواناب ضروری می­باشد. در این مطالعه از مدل هیدرولوژیکی-توزیعی
 WetSpa برای شبیه­سازی رواناب حوزه زشک مشهد استفاده شد. ورودی­های این مدل شامل 3 نقشه پایه مدل رقومی ارتفاع (DEM)، کاربری اراضی و بافت خاک و داده­های هواشناسی شامل بارندگی، دما و تبخیر و تعرق پتانسیل می­باشد. برای ارزیابی و واسنجی مدل از دبی مشاهده شده در ایستگاه هیدرومتری در خروجی حوزه استفاده شد. واسنجی مدل برای دوره آماری 1/1/2009 تا 31/12/2011 و اعتبار سنجی آن برای دوره آماری 1/1/2012 تا 31/12/2014 انجام شد. در دوره واسنجی از نرم افزار PESTجهت واسنجی پارامترهای مدل استفاده گردید. نتایج شبیه‌سازی تطابق خوبی را بین دبی شبیه­سازی شده با دبی اندازه­گیری شده نشان داد. مدل بر اساس معیار کارایی ناش ساتکلیف، هیدروگراف­های ساعتی را با دقت خوب بیش از 63/85% و 23/83% به ترتیب در دوره واسنجی و اعتبارسنجی شبیه­سازی کرد. علاوه بر این نتایج مدل برای جریان­های سیلابی مطلوب بوده ولی در شبیه­سازی جریان­های کمینه نتایج مناسب نبود که این مسئله به خاطر استفاده از آب جهت آبیاری در فصول خشک سال می­باشد.
