کمی نمودن و ارزیابی مدل­های نفوذ آب به خاک در سامانههای حفاظت خاک، سامانه­های آبیاری، پژوهشهای هیدرولوژی، سامانههای مدیریت حوضههای آبخیز و آبخیزداری کاربرد دارد. هدف این پژوهش بررسی کارایی مدلهای مختلف آماری و تجربی در برآورد نفوذ آب بهخاک در دو خاک شخم خورده و شخم نخورده در اراضی شالیزاری مرکز ترویج و توسعه تکنولوژی هراز استان مازندران است. مقدار نفوذ با استفاده از استوانههای دوگانه اندازهگیری و با مدلهای نفوذ کوستیاکوف، کوستیاکوف-لوییز، فیلیپ، هورتون و سازمان حفاظت خاک آمریکا (SCS) مقایسه گردید. نتایج نشان داد سرعت نهایی نفوذ در خاک شخم نخورده 12/0 و در خاک شخم خورده 21/0 سانتیمتر بر دقیقه بود. مقایسه مقدار نفوذ برآوردی از هر یک از مدلها با مقادیر واقعی نشان داد که میانگین شاخص خطاسنجی مجذور میانگین مربعات خطای نرمال (NRMSE) در خاک شخم خورده و شخم نخورده بهترتیب 53/21 و 45/6 درصد بهدست آمد. انجام فرآیند بهینهسازی ضرایب مدلهای نفوذ در محیط Solver Excel، سبب بهبود کار و کاهش مقادیر شاخص فوق بهترتیب به 48/2 و 9/1 درصد شد. همچنین برازش مدلهای مختلف نفوذ پس از انجام فرآیند بهینهسازی ضرایب نشان داد در هر دو خاک شخم نخورده و شخم خورده مدل SCS برآوردهای بهتری در مقایسه با سایر مدلها داشتند. به­طوریکه شکل کلی مدل SCS برای خاک شخم نخورده I=0.8459t1.0417 +0.6985 و برای خاک شخم خورده I=0.891t1.026 +0.6985 به­دست آمد. در مجموع میتوان اظهار داشت برازش مدلهای فیزیکی و تجربی این مطالعه بر خاکهای مناطق شالیزاری مازندران دارای دقت خوبی بود. از دیگر نتایج این پژوهش مناسبتر بودن نتایج در خاک شخم نخورده براساس شاخص  NRMSEبود. لذا میتوان چنین روشی را در اراضی شالیزاری، استفاده نمود.
